Last friday, March 6 (my birthday of all days) during the downtown First Friday art-walk, I launched my public art project. I went downtown about 4 o’clock to place the “gifts” both outside and in corridors between the main galleries of the walk. It was hard to leave them for fear of rejection but nevertheless, I did. I then left. To my surprise and satisfaction, when I returned about 8 pm all the “gifts” were gone. While there has been no response via the internet all the gifts were in fact placed and taken so to that extent the project launch was a success. Next month I plan on doing this again.
