A New "Type" of Work

After engaging in some “little experiments” and considering the shape future projects, I took to constructing a new type of work based on some old digital works I created long ago. These works are necessarily more cerebral, symbolic and typographic. The possible meanings and interpretations are thereby more constrained than my former paintings but then I tend to oscillate between more subjective and objective forms of expression. Anyhow this work is part of a public arts project that I hope to start in the coming months (more on that soon). For now here is the first unofficial work. As usual the writing in the work is reprinted below in block quote.
National insecurity reinforces the mythic frame: We are God’s holy city on the hill and our manifest destiny is of covenantal proportions, even to the ends of the earth. But God is not an American. We are not his people. This is not the promised land. A Halo Sin Nation. Yet our fortune has been to live rather than to die if only for a season in Rome. And in this way a juxtaposition of gifted grace and assumed fate mark the making a hallucination.
